Creating sketches of hands can prove to be a tricky task if you don’t know their basic structure. Each of your hands has more joints and bends than the remainder of the body!
This workshop will look at the simplest way to draw basic shapes of a hand, plus getting the ideal proportions, recognising skin wrinkles, fingernails and not to mention a few poses and gestures suitable for male and female hands.
The final important skill? Correct shading, including the all important core shadows.
You will need to bring:
An A3 sketchbook (Quill or similar quality, no Mont Marte or Aldi paper)
About 3-5 pencils, 4h, 2h, hb, 2b, 6b
Putty eraser
Normal eraser
Maximum 8 students
